About this blog

The UNC Institute for Global Health & Infectious Diseases (IGHID) is dedicated to uniting and bolstering global health activities across the UNC-Chapel Hill campus.  IGHID cultivates interdisciplinary approaches to global health challenges.

This blog not only highlights institute activities and efforts, but also provides an opportunity to connect with others about global health issues.  We believe improving health around the world is a monumental task which requires cooperation and collaboration.

The managing editor of this blog is IGHID communications director, Lisa Chensvold.  Although Lisa is also the primary writer, she regularly solicits ideas for posts and publishes posts written by colleagues and students, many of whom have amazing stories to tell about their experiences in the field.
